ancestral trail
Quilquico park

self-guided trail

The trail was used by the ancient inhabitants of the interior islands, from the time of the jesuits in the area, as this trail was traversed in those years by the ancient “birloches” (land sleds) pulled by oxen and later carts, transporting all agricultural products and provisions from quinchao island to Castro (and vice versa), crossing by sea in chilote boats to the Pullao beach. there, they used the trail to cross the Rilan peninsula to the Punta Tongoy dock, where they continued by boats to the historic potato dock in Castro.

On the trail, you can appreciate the wear and sinking of the trail terrain due to the movement of carts and animals.
